Breckenridge is a town in Summit County, Colorado. According to a 2004 population estimate Breckenridge is home to approximately 3250 residents. In the winter months Breckenridge is known as being a popular ski resort home to several ski areas located on the Rocky Mountains. Breckenridge was named after Vice President, John C. Breckinridge. After the civil war a slight spelling change was made taking the 'i' and replacing it with an 'e'.
